About MSLBRA

Our Mission

The Mid-States Little Britches Rodeo Association was organized to better educate and promote the sport of rodeo for youth across the heartland. We provide a training ground and competitive arena where children can develop the skills, character, and sportsmanship needed for higher levels of rodeo competition and life beyond the arena. We stress responsibility, cooperation, and good conduct in our participants — seeing rodeo as a vehicle to help our children grow into outstanding members of their communities.

Our Story

The MSLBRA Story

The Mid-States Little Britches Rodeo Association was founded by a group of rodeo families who recognized the need for a structured, competitive youth rodeo organization in the heartland states. With a shared belief in the values of Western culture — hard work, integrity, and respect for animals and people — they built an organization from the ground up.

As an official affiliate of the National Little Britches Rodeo Association (NLBRA), MSLBRA follows nationally recognized rules and standards, ensuring that our competitors are always prepared for the highest levels of youth rodeo competition, including the NLBRA World Finals.

Our season runs from approximately July through November, with a Year-End Championship Finals capping off each season. Age divisions and eligibility are set as of September 1 of each year, following the school year calendar.

We are a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization. We use no school or tax dollars and provide our own insurance coverage. Everything we do is made possible by the hard work of our rodeo families, volunteers, and community supporters.
